New signs ease congestion near El Lago schools
By MARY ANN HELLINGHAUSEN
Drivers near schools in the El Lago area are finding it much easier to navigate during congested school drop-off and pick-up times now that new directions are in place.
Council Wednesday officially approved ordinance changes which effectively makes Les Tally Drive a one-way street during certain times on school days.
Les Talley runs between Ed White Elementary and Bay Area Charter School.
The new signs, which were installed at Huntercrest and Whitecap, have already resulted in “much better’’ traffic conditions in the area, said El Lago City Secretary Ann Vernon.
Council also voted to impose a 20 percent penalty on delinquent taxes for the 2009 tax year.
