Teacher alt cert program at SJC

The Continuing and Professional Development (CPD) division of San Jacinto College is offering a free information session about the Alternative Teacher Certification program, which provides the opportunity to become a certified teacher in the state of Texas.

“If you’ve ever had the desire to teach, you should plan to attend this session,” said Heidi Cisneros, program manager. “If you hold a bachelor’s degree, the process to obtain the certification is streamlined.”

The free information session will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the San Jacinto College North campus, located at 5800 Uvalde Road in Houston. The session will take place in the Chablis Restaurant inside the Slovacek Student Center. For more information, please call 281-459-7119.

The Continuing and Professional Development division of San Jacinto College offers programs and courses for individuals to retain or advance in their jobs, or make career transitions. The division provides training to companies and their employees to meet employers’ demands for a highly skilled workforce, while helping incumbent workers reach their potential.
