TWCA rolls past Legacy

BEAUMONT — The Woodlands Christian Academy saw action for the first time in three weeks and rolled past Beaumont Legacy 46-10 in its TAPPS Division IV District 4 opener Friday night.

The Warriors, now 5-1 overall this season, had a bye and also missed a game due to illness before winning against Legacy.

Quarterback Troy Williams ran the ball 14 times for 229 yards and scored four touchdowns, threw a touchdown pass and also raced 90 yards for another score on a kickoff return.

Martin Cronin hauled in six passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns, one from Williams (33 yards) and the other from Austin Anderson (15 yards). Cronin also recorded two sacks and recovered a fumble on defense.


The Warriors will host Katy Faith West at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
