Klein Homecoming for Dynamo goalie
By Jerry Coon
The Houston Dynamo hosted its annual Soccer Night Out on Thursday at Meyer Park.
The event brought in families from the area and provided games, prizes and a chance to meet Houston Dynamo players.
Klein High School alumnus and Dynamo goalkeeper Tyler Deric was one of the guest athletes.
“This is a great idea for the staff to put this on,” Deric said. “It’s a good thing to bring these families and communities out all over Houston.”
The Dynamo have already clinched a playoff berth with a 12-8-8 record for the season.
“So far I think the season is going really well,” Deric said. “Our goal at the beginning of the season was to make the playoffs. And now that we have, we need to get the championship.”
When asked about coming back to the side of town he grew up, Deric said it brought back many memories.
“It feels good. I used to play out here when I was five-years-old,” Deric said. “Something like this keeps me humble.”
