A juried exhibition, "Arte Caliente" features the work of Texas Hispanic artists. The exhibition's artist call was posted nationally and throughout the state of Texas in order to ensure the most diverse submissions possible in terms of style, medium, subject and genre that reflect the theme "Arte Caliente."

Among the artists selected to be in the show is Julie Zarate from Deer Park.

In addition to Zarate, other participating artists include: Sorange Castillo, Marty Arredondo, EdĂș Portillo, Andy Ledesma, Lilibeth AndrĂ©, Richard Varela, John Mercado, Jerrie Cuellar Glidden, Rosemary Meza-DesPlas, Juan C. Vela, Jr., Lauren Adamson, Lupe G. Hernandez, Adriana Whitney, Marlene Llanes, Raquel Rosales Kreipe, Sergio Santos, Jonatan Lopez, Mike Peyton, Fabia Vargas and Lynet Saldana McDonald.

"Arte Caliente" will be on view from July 18 through July 31. The exhibition is free of charge and open to the public. The artist whose work is selected "Best of Show" will receive $300 in prize money. Second place will receive $100 in prize money and 3rd place will receive $50.

Entertainment for the opening reception on Saturday, July 18, includes live music and a special performance by Danza Azteca. Catering for the reception will be provided by El Tiempo Restaurant and Tequila El Gran Jubileo will provide complimentary margaritas. Free valet parking will also be provided.
