Football, softball, lacrosse camps starting on Monday

Bay Area Football

Camp June 15-17

The annual Bay Area Football Camp will be held at the Clear Lake High football fields June 15-17.

Time of the camp each day will be 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The camp is geared for students entering 2nd grade through 8th grade.


The fundamentals of the game will be taught, including all offensive and defensive positions dealing with footwork, stances and physical conditioning.

Camp fee is $75. Checks should be made out to Bay Area Football Camp.

Lacrosse Camps

set for June 15-19

Evolution Lacrosse Camps will hold two camps at Sylvan Rodriguez Park on June 15-19.

The Young Guns boys camp (grades 2-5) will be held 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Rising Stars boys camp (grades 6-8) will be held from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m..

Clear Brook

Softball Camp

The Clear Brook softball camp will be held June 15-18. The camp is for girls entering grades 1-9.

Camp times for girls entering grades 1-5 will be 9-11:15 a.m.

Camp times for girls entering grades 6-9 will be 12:30-2:45 p.m.

Camp fee is $85 with a family discount of $115 for two.

Houston Dynamo

Kids Soccer Camp

Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer is holding several summer camps starting June 8.

The camps are open to boys and girls ages 5-12. In the camps they get to play friendly soccer games, learn new skills and tricks, meet a Dynamo player and Diesel, the team mascot.

Camp dates are June 8-11 in Centennial Park. June 15-18 at Katy Park. June 22-25 and July 6-9 at Presbyterian School OEC and July 20-23 at Camp Sienna Park.

CL Christian NFL

Legends Football

For the second year in a row Clear Lake Christian head football coach Robert Smith, a former NFL player with the Dallas Cowboys, will hold his popular Legends Football Camp July 9-11.

The camp will be for boys entering grades 2-12 and will be grouped by skills.

Active and retired NFL players will be camp instructors.

Registration is $125 per camper.

Clear Lake Christian School is holding several sports camps this summer. Each camp will feature well known professional, college and high school sports figures.

Camps will include baseball (boys grades 2-12) June 9-12; softball (girls grades 2-12), ages 5-18 on June 16-19; basketball (boys, girls grades 2-12) June 9-12. Also scheduled will be the NFL Legends Football Camp.

Football Camp

Lutheran South Academy will hold its football camp June 8-12

The camp is for boys entering grades 6-12 and will be divided into two sessions and led by coach Aaron Carpenter.

Session I is for grades 6-8 and will meet 8-10 a.m.

Session II is for grades 9-12 and will be 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Beck Rising Stars

Basketball Camps

Clear Lake girl’s coach Angela Beck will hold her Rising Stars basketball camps June 29-July 2 in Krueger Field House on the Clear Lake High campus.

The camps are for boys and girls entering grades 2-6.

The Individual Camp will be from 8 a.m. until noon. Camp cost is $100.

The Competition Camp will be from 1-5 p.m. Camp cost is $100.

There is a discount for both camps 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at $180.

There is also the Recreation Camp July 27-30 and the Skill Camp Aug. 3-6.

Beck has coached everything from pre-high school, high school, college and professional women’s basketball.

In her first year at Lake, Beck took the Lady Falcons to a District 24-5A championship and a season record of 23-9. The previous year the Falcons had a 10-21 mark.

Wildcat Soccer

Camp July 6-9

The Clear Creek Wildcat Soccer Camp will be held at the school July 6-9. Times of the camp will be 9 a.m. until noon.

The camp is for ages 5 years to incoming high school freshmen.

Camp fees are $100 which includes a camp T-shirt. For second family member at the camp the fee is $95. Team fee (10 players or more) is $80 per player.

Camp coaches are Chris Cobb and Sarah Heggen. Cobb has been Creek’s head men’s soccer coach for 11 years and holds a USSF national coaching license. Cobb is the 2009 District 24-5A Coach of the Year.

Heggen is the Creek girl’s head soccer coach and holds a NSCAA national coaching and goalkeeping license.

Blue Devil Elite

Lacrosse Camp

The Blue Devil Boys Lacrosse Camp will be held July 14-17 at Friendswood High School’s Henry Winston Stadium.

The camp is for all boys starting at 5th grade to high school.

There will be six hours of training each day. The sessions last from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

The Clear Lake volleyball camp will be held July 20-23 at the school.

Skills I is for grades 4-6 and is 1-4 p.m.

Skills II AM is for grades 6-9 and is from 8-11 a.m.

Skills II PM is for grades 6-9 and is from 1-4 p.m.

Skills III is for grades 7-9 and is from 8-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m.

Elite is for grades 8-9 and is from 8-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m.

Academy Camp

The Lake Soccer Academy Camp will be held July 20-24 at the school’s 9th grade center soccer fields.

The camp will be held 5:30-8 p.m. each evening.

Registration will be held at 4:30 p.m. on July 20.

Hardball Academy

Specialty Camps

Hardball Academy will hold three summer specialty baseball camps at its Pearland indoor training facility.

Camp I will be a 6-week Batspeed Hitting Camp will start June 9 each Tuesday to Thursday from 10-11:30 a.m. The enrollment will be limited to the first 10 signing up.

Camp II will be a 6-week Catching Camp for ages 9-13 starting June 9 on Tuesday thru Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The enrollment will be limited to the first 10 signing up.

Camp III will be a Velocity Enhancement Pitching Camp on Mondays and on Wednesdays starting June 8 for ages 13 and up (incoming high school freshmen or college).

Clear Lake

Basketball Camp

New Clear Lake boys basketball coach Tommy Penders is continuing the tradition of the Clear Lake Basketball Camp.

The camp will run for two weeks beginning June 8-11 for 1st through 6th graders. Time will be 8:30 to 11 a.m.

Camp for those entering grades 7-9 will follow from 11:30 to 2 p.m.

From June 15-18 grades 7-9 will attend from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and those entering grades 1-6 will come in from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The UIL allows only grades 1-6 to attend both weeks.

Camp fees are $90 for one week and $150 for both weeks. Discounts are available for multiple family members.

Brook Wolverine

Basketball camp

The Clear Brook Wolverine Basketball Camp for boys and girls will be held at Clear Brook High School June 15-19.

Times for those entering grades 1-3 will be 8-10 a.m.

Times for those entering grades 4-6 will be 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Times for those entering grades 7-9 will be 1-5 p.m.

Camp cost is $85 if signed up by May 30. Camp fee at the door will be $95.

Simonds Wildcat

Volleyball Camp

Clear Creek volleyball coach Scott Simonds will hold his annual Wildcat Volleyball Camp at the school July 27-30.

The camp is for incoming grades 4th through 9th from any school.

Camp instruction will include basic skills and a camp tournament.

Simonds took the Lady Wildcats to the state final four last year.

Instructors will include Simonds, the Creek coaching staff and former Creek players who are no collegiate volleyball players.

Registration fee includes a camp T-shirt.

Brendan Keyes

Soccer Camp

The Brendan Keyes Soccer Academy will hold its annual elite soccer camp July 27-31 at Resoft Park in Alvin. Daily time of the camp is 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Former Irish women’s national coach Noel Mulhall will fly directly from Ireland to head the camp.

The camp is for boys and girls ages 5-18. Camp cost is $75.00 per registered Alvin player and $150 for non-Alvin registered players.

Each player will receive a camp T-shirt, 15 hours of training and a photo with Noel Mulhall.

Keyes is a former professional soccer player, a sanctioned professional USSF coach, FAI Football Association of Ireland, along with Soccer Management and Scouting Sports Management Worldwide.

Moody Gardens

Jr. Golfing Camp

Moody Gardens Golf Course in Galveston will hold a series of three-day Summer Junior Golf Camps in June, July and August.

The camp is designed for young golfers and golfers-to-be ages 6-14.

The camp will feature 12 hours of fun-filled instruction over three days. The instruction will be held by PGA Teaching Professional Rick Christ.

The Moody Gardens Golf Course underwent extensive $16 million renovations and re-opened last year.

Campers will play five holes of golf on the last day to recap skills.

Camp dates are June 8-10, July 6-8 and Aug. 10-12.

Camp fee is $150 for the first child and $125 for each additional sibling. The fee includes lunch and a Moody Gardens Junior Golfer T-shirt, plus a free summer pass to white sand Moody Gardens Palm Beach.
