From staff reports
A special crime alert has been issued by Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers in a possible attempted kidnapping of an area 9-year-old.
The suspect in the incident is described as a black male, approximately 6-feet tall, with a thin build. He was described as wearing a black ski mask, black gloves, black short-sleeved T-shirt, and baggy faded blue jeans.
According to a recent county press release, sheriff deputies responded on Jan. 10 to the Tara Subdivision and received a report on a possible attempted kidnapping.
On Friday, Dec. 9, a 9-year-old female was reportedly riding her bike, in the 7100 block of Gettysburg, when a man pulled up next to her in his vehicle while she stopped at a stop sign.
The suspect got out of the car, described as an older-model, faded black four-door car with a broken off front license plate, and grabbed the bike and told the girl to get off, according to the police report.
An older white female, described as approximately 5-feet, 7-inches tall, with a medium build, who was walking down the street and witnessed the incident, yelled out to the suspect to let go of the bike.
The man then fled the scene in his car and the victim went home.
Sheriff deputies are currently seeking the assistance of the female said to have witnessed the incident and ask that she contact the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.
