The Tomball City Council has a full night of discussion ahead at its meeting Jan. 5, according to the recently released meeting agenda.

The council is to discuss the purchase of three new police cars for $82,666; a change to noise and noise-making codes within buildings; and extending the period for adjudication hearings from red light camera violations to 180 days.

The council is to consider rezoning a 74 acre tract of land South of Brown Rd. and West of SH 249 from general retail to a planned development.

The council is to set election day for May 9.

Tomball Mayor Gretchen Fagan is to issue a proclamation honoring the Tomball Volunteer Fire Department for 75 years of service.

Upcoming city events are Walk Tomball! and Second Saturday at the Depot, both on Jan. 10.
