Students gird for trivia Quiz Bowl
Pearland Independent School District middle and junior high school academic teams will show off their trivia skills at the district’s third annual Quiz Bowl Jan. 23.
General topics covered in the competition include sports, current events, art, history, entertainment, government, math, music and literature.
The competition will be at Pearland Junior High South from 5-7:30 p.m., with an awards ceremony following at 8. Parents and friends are invited to watch the Super Quiz relay at 6:15 p.m.
Pearland ISD developed Quiz Bowl to build interest and capacity for Academic Decathlon among pre-high-school students. Although other Academic Decathlon feeder programs exist, most involve a small number of students and do not offer the Super Quiz component.
