FHS sets records in region band tilt

The Friendswood High School Band recently participated in the TMEA Region 17 Band auditions at Alvin High School. The Friendswood Band set new school records and with 69 students qualifying for District, 56 qualifying for Region, and 43 qualifying for Area and will audition for the All-State Band on January 10 at the University of Houston.

The students have worked for months on the audition music competing against high schools of all classifications from Galveston and Brazoria Counties. The All-Region Band will be in performance at Clear Springs High School on January 17 and the concert is open to the public.

Earning All-District Band Honors: Piccolo - Katie Barton; Flute - Traci Bordelon: Bassoon - Solange Mainer; Bb Clarinet - Christina Peck, Allison Carlin ; Bari Sax - David Zurawski; Trumpet - Hayden Faust, Colton Mertz; Horn – Lauren Patterson, Melodie Larsen; Trombone - Bryan McCullough; Euphonium - Shelby Stephens; Percussion ‚ Winston Wu.
