Seventeen area food establishments made Missouri City’s semi-annual list of clean restaurants.
Awarded twice a year by the city to recognize excellence, the Clean Restaurant Awards were handed out at the Jan. 5 regular council meeting.
Eateries eligible to be considered for the award, include any restaurant where food is cooked or served that holds a valid health permit, excluding convenience and grocery stores, school cafeterias and food establishments without a kitchen.
To be named to the list, qualifying restaurants must score 95 or above, with no critical violations, during the past six-month inspection period.
Missouri City Mayor Allen Owen commended this year’s winner’s for consistently demonstrating their dedication to providing qualify service and safe food products to Missouri City residents.
Restaurants receiving awards this year included Mon Mon Sushi, located at 6200 Highway 6 (inside the Kroger grocery store), the only eatery to score 100.
Rounding out the list were Paco’s a-la-Carte, 3843 Cartwright Road, Fruhstuck’s, 9029 Highway 6, Ste. 190, Fun Tiki Family Entertainment Center, 3310 FM 1092 and Aura’s Restaurant, 3340 FM 1092, Ste. 160.
