From Staff Reports
Updated: 01.07.09
On December 30, 2009, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies T. Berry and A. Vera responded to the Christian Brothers Automotive located at 24155 Tomball Parkway in reference to an alarm call. When they arrived it appeared a vehicle had been driven through the large over-head glass door of one of the repair bays. Pieces of broken tail light were found just outside the bay door and collected as evidence. Deputy Berry advised dispatch a vehicle was possibly missing from the business with damage to the tail light. A short while later dispatch made a broadcast of a suspicious vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot in the 22605 block of Tomball Parkway which is only a short distance from the automotive business. While waiting on the key holder to the automotive business, the deputies were approached by a witness who stated he had seen a suspicious male in the area. He also told deputies he had heard a loud crash and saw the automotive business had been burglarized. When the key holder arrived he told deputies that a white SUV was in the service area and was now missing. The deputies who were investigating the suspicious vehicle at the Wal-Mart advised they had a person detained for investigative purposes. Additional witnesses stated they had nearly been struck by a white SUV driving through the parking lot. They followed the vehicle and saw the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Kyle Stevens of Tomball, exit the SUV and run inside the store. The witnesses then notified the security officer who in turn notified the Sheriff’s Office. The SUV was identified as the one taken from Christian Brothers Automotive and Stevens was positively identified as the suspicious male the witness had seen in the area. Stevens was arrested and later pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of a Motor vehicle and was given two years deferred adjudication. Stevens is still being held in the Harris County Jail on unrelated charges.

On December 30, 2008, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy C. Smith was dispatched to the Wal-Mart located at 22605 Tomball Parkway in reference to a shoplifter. When he arrived at the scene he was met by the loss prevention officer who stated she had a female detained for stealing a computer. Video surveillance revealed the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Kelli Estell of Sugarland, had entered the store pushing a basket containing a Hewlett Packard Desktop Computer box. After a period of time Estell was observed pushing a basket with a Dell Computer box, with a computer inside, passing all points of sale and toward the exit. Estell denied having a Hewlett Packard box and claimed it was the same computer. Video surveillance positively identified the type of box upon her entry and a different box upon her exit. Estell was arrested and charged with Theft. She has since been released on a $1,000.00 bond awaiting her next court appearance on January 9, 2009.

On January 2, 2009, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy C. Smith was dispatched to the Verde at North Pointe apartment complex located at 11743 North Pointe Blvd in Tomball Texas. Upon his arrival he met with an off-duty HPD captain who was working as a Courtesy Officer at the complex. The Captain reported he had been contacted by management informing him while conducting routine maintenance repairs in an apartment, the manager and maintenance man observed what they thought was marijuana growing inside an apartment. After a short while, the renter of the apartment, identified as 20-year-old Kevin Salazar arrived and gave consent to Deputy Smith to enter the apartment. Once inside the apartment, Deputy Smith found marijuana plants and growing paraphernalia. Salazar was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana. He was later released on a $1,000.00 bond awaiting his next court appearance on January 9, 2009.
