Updated: 01.12.09
Bellaire will close out its centennial Saturday night with a multifaceted community celebration.

“100 Star Gala: A Night on the Red Carpet,” is set for 7 p.m. Saturday at the Bellaire City Hall Auditorium and Bellaire Town Square, 7008 S. Rice Ave.

One of the highlights will be the premiere of noted documentarian Jeff Mills’ film about the city’s first 100 years. Mills is a Bellaire resident and has collected historical photos, video and recorded hours of oral history for the video.

Bellaire musicians, Johnny Dyson and Ezra Charles, will perform with their popular bands for listening and dancing, and the Bellaire Arts Commission will sponsor a fine arts display.

Demeris Barbecue will cater a buffet supper, and there will be a cash bar. Dress is casual chic.

Tickets are on sale online at www.ci. bellaire .tx.us or at the Bellaire Recreation Center behind City Hall.

Advance price is $35 per person, $25 for seniors, and $40 cash at the door. Discounts will be offered for groups of 10 or more.

The event is hosted by the city of Bellaire, the Bellaire Centennial Committee and the Arts Commission.
