FBC sheriff’s make arrest in aggravated robbery

Fort Bend County sheriff’s deputies made a swift arrest of a man in an aggravated robbery in progress at a local pharmacy.

Officers arrested Myles Chudi Anyigbo, 21, of the Pheasant Creek subdivision shortly after receiving a a call at 11:08 a.m. on Jan. 7 regarding an aggravated robbery in progress at the Metscript Pharmacy, located at 4888 U.S. 90A near the Grand Parkway.

According to the sheriff’s department, the armed suspect handed the pharmacist a note that demanded a list of controlled substances along with instructions to fill with the highest milligrams available.

Deputies were informed that one of the victim’s in the robbery, a pharmacy technician at the store, called 9-1-1 and whispered information regarding the robbery suspect to the dispatcher.


Within minutes deputies arrived and arrested the suspect as he was leaving the pharmacy.

Deputies commended store personnel for remaining calm and providing information essential in the apprehension and arrest of the suspect.

A handgun, along with the bag containing several different types of controlled substances, including xanax, hydrocodone, and valium, taken in the robbery, was recovered by responding deputies.

Anyigbo, who has prior convictions, was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held in the Fort Bend County Jail on charges of aggravated robbery.

Officers also recovered an undisclosed amount of controlled substances in the suspect’s vehicle - seized as evidence and searched in the incident.
