Flare up at Lyondell no cause for concern, officials say
A large flare from the LyondellBasell chemical plant could be seen for miles on the east side of town Wednesday morning.
According to the North Channel Sentinel's news partner, ABC-13, the flames burned over the Channelview complex and left a trail of black smoke in the sky.
Company officials said operating conditions in one of the units forced it to release the flare and that there is no cause for concern.
