Two young men and a teenage girl have been jailed on aggravated robbery charges in the stabbing a Houston man and a Friendswood teen in an alley in Webster.

The robbery was just one of numerous arrests police in Webster, Friendswood and League City made shortly before Christmas as a number of residents behaved badly.

Jonathan Albert Leal, 22; Chanel Kathleen Mejorado, 19; and Luis Spencer Posada, 18, were taken to the Harris County Jail after they were arrested by Webster Police Officer R.D. Berryman following the Dec. 19 melee in the alley behind the old Club Eden at 20801 Gulf Freeway.

Deputy Police Chief Thomas Claunch said the suspects approached the victims as they were walking through the alley, a fight ensued as they attempted to rob them, one suspect pulled a knife and stabbed Michael Anthony Elliott, 17, of Houston, and the others jumped in.

Elliott was transported to Southeast Memorial Hospital and Tyler Skrabanek of Friendswood was treated at the scene for some cuts and scrapes. Elliott’s condition is unknown.

Other robberies were reported at 301 Wesley Drive, 2751 E. FM 518 and at 2510 Gulf Freeway in League City earlier in December.

Over the seven days around Christmas, police arrested 37 men and women for public intoxication — 10 between Dec. 24 and 26 — and 16 for driving while intoxicated. Luckily, most made it home for Christmas after a layover in jail.

Another 16 were arrested on assault charges for fighting and/or family violence — seven in Webster, two in Friendswood and seven in League City.

A total of 22 will face the judge on drug charges, most of possession of marijuana. Eight were arrested in Webster, three in Friendswood and 11 in League City.
