Constable Pct. 4 reports activity for Dec. 24 to Jan. 1

Driver caught in hit-and-run

On Dec. 24, Precinct 4 Deputy Constable C. Bartlett responded to a call of an auto accident in which one party fled the scene.

A woman exited the Sam Houston Toll Road onto the left lane of the feeder road when a driver came from the far right lane, struck her vehicle, then fled the scene.

Bartlett was able to obtain the license plate number of the suspect’s vehicle, and the crash remains under investigation.


The charge of failing to stop and give information is a misdemeanor offense.

Man kicked out of car by passengers

On Dec. 25, Pct. 4 Deputy Bartlett responded to a call of a car jacking (Robbery and Assault) in the 10700 block of West FM 1960.

A man said he was at a bar located around the State Highway 6 area when three individuals convinced him to give them a ride.

Once in the complainant’s vehicle, the men drove him to the 10700 block of West FM 1960, where they took his wallet and assaulted him by kicking him numerous times until he got out of the truck.

The men drove off and the complainant was transported to Cy- Fair Hospital. The felony robbery-assault case is currently under investigation.

Driver charged with DWI after Beltway crash

On Dec. 26, around 7:45 p.m., Pct. 4 Sgt. R. Norris responded to a call of a major accident in the 100 block of the North Beltway 8 East (going eastbound).

Police said the intoxicated driver made an unsafe lane change and struck a cable along the retaining wall, causing her car to flip.

During the investigation, the driver gave the names of three different people who “might have been driving” her car.

The toxicology report on a blood sample from the defendant showed a blood alcohol level of 0.289, whereas 0.08 is legally intoxicated in the State of Texas. The driver, Bobbi Bernardic, 34, was incarcerated and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor offense.
