Old computers, new life

Green Bank is doing its part to divert the estimated 80 percent of home computer equipment that ends up in landfills. Through Saturday, the Green Bank branch at U.S. 59 at Greenbriar Street will be accepting used personal computers for Techs and Trainers, a local nonprofit agency that provides low-cost machines for disabled Houstonians. Machines beyond repair are dismantled for parts and responsibly recycled. Green Bank's Mike Barone stacks some of the equipment that's already been donated. For more information, visit www.greenbank.com or call 713-316-7007.
