YMCA to host fitness fest Jan. 10

From staff reports
Updated: 12.26.08
If you are looking for a way to help keep those fitness resolutions made for the new year or for new activities for your family, stop by the Katy Family YMCA for an open house to showcase its facility and programs.

The Fitness Festival and open house will be held Saturday, Jan. 10 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event is free and open to the entire community.

Adults can participate in demonstrations of different group exercises classes offered by the YMCA and kids can join in planned activities. The event will feature moonwalks, batting cages and other games.

Youth sport representatives will be on site to answer questions about the upcoming spring sports available through the YMCA, like soccer, volleyball, baseball, softball and tennis.

As the Katy area grows, so does the YMCA facility. The plans for the building expansion will be on display and residents can see the expansion in progress.

Houston’s top-40 radio station 104.1 KRBE will broadcast live from the YMCA from 10 a.m. until noon.

The YMCA is located at 22807 Westheimer Parkway in Katy.
