Patrol unit bashed:

On Dec. 14 the owner/manager of Magnolia Pharmacy in the 18200 block of FM 1488 at the Landmark Building flagged two Magnolia Police Department officers down to inform them that the MPD patrol unit parked in the parking lot had been vandalized; a window was knocked out. The manager stated he was at the location the night before at 7 p.m. and did not notice anything. The unit was taken back to the station on Buddy Riley Boulevard and the case is under investigation.

Shoplifter stashes steaks in sleeve:

On Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. tow Magnolia Police Department officers went to the 18500 block of FM 1488, the Brookshire Brothers store, where the store director informed them two women had shoplifted and he observed them in the parking lot as one dropped a 24-pack of beer. The officers located the women and found one, 38, of Magnolia and one, 39, of Montgomery. While handcuffed officers found three T-bone steaks in the sleeve of one woman and four candy bars in her purse. The total dollar amount of goods taken from the store was $67.63. Both women were charged with theft of $50 or more, but less than $500, and taken to the Montgomery County Jail


Confession yields no arrest:

On Dec.19 at 12:40 p.m. two Magnolia Police Department officers went to the 40900 block of FM 1774, the O’Reilly Auto Parts store. The officers met with a O’Reilly Auto Parts Company loss prevention officer who said he had been investigating one of the clerks at the store and found he had been omitting sales tickets, a report made to him by the store concerning months of the same activity followed by the termination of the clerk. The officers contacted the man, he met them and was taken to the Magnolia Police Department where he made a statement, confessing he took money from the store over the past few months. Officers contacted the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, which declined charges due to lack of evidence. The assistant district attorney on duty explained that without exact dates, dollar amounts and information connecting the clerk to the thefts, charges could not be filed. The loss prevention officer said those details would cost the O’Reilly Auto Parts Company thousands of dollars and take several weeks. The clerk was transported back to the store and issued a criminal trespass warning.

Counterfeit bill for gas:

On Dec. 16, two Magnolia Police Department officers went to the Conoco Station in the Brookshire Brothers store parking lot in the 18500 block of FM 1488. The officers learned a $10 suspicious bill had been given by a customer at the gas station at 9:45 a.m. The clerk suspected the bill due to its color and no hidden dollar amount inside the bill, which is visible when held up to the light. With no suspect or identifyinginformation the officers took the bill into evidence and the case is under investigation.

Burglary of habitation/building:

On Dec. 3 a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 4 deputy was dispatched to Deer Path Lane concerning burglary of a building. When the deputy arrived on location to the home under construction she met with the complainant who stated he was missing 90 sheets of plywood, 50 sets of guides and 75 pair of hinges. Total cost of the items was estimated at $5,200. This report was referred to the Criminal Investigations Division-Detectives.

On Dec. 5 two Magnolia Police Department officers went to the 18200 block of FM 1488 in response to a call from Magnolia Health Care Center concerning burglary of a building. An employee at the office located inside the Magnolia Landmark Building reported a cash box had been forced open and less than $300 cash was missing. There was no forced entry and the case is under investigation.

On Dec. 9 a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 4 deputy was dispatched to Rickett Road concerning a burglary of a building report. The complainant stated he discovered his nail gun valued at $400 missing from his metal storage shed. The complainant supplied information for the report including a possible suspect. This case was referred to CID-Detectives.

On Dec. 12 a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 4 deputy met with a complainant at the patrol office. The complainant wanted to report on the burglary of a habitation. The information provided by the complainant included the theft of 10 mini blinds valued at $200 and one white wood medicine cabinet valued at $100. This case was referred to CID-Detectives.

On Dec. 12 a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 4 deputy was dispatched to Lake Circle for a past burglary. The complainant stated that she recently discovered that her 5500 watt Storm Responder generator was missing from her garage. The Briggs/Stratton black/red generator is valued at $800. This case was referred to CID-Detectives.

On Dec. 14 a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 4 deputy was dispatched to Inverness in reference to burglary of a habitation of laptop computers. The complainant stated the total loss came to approximately $4,600 for the missing laptop computers and various equipment/tools. This case was referred to CID-Detectives.

Burglary of a vehicle:

On Dec. 7 a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 4 deputy was dispatched to Doe Drive for a burglary of a vehicle report. When he arrived on location he met with the complainant who stated she accidentally left her purse in her 2007 Jeep Cherokee which she had left parked at her residence while she and her husband went out to eat. When they arrived home she discovered her purse had been stolen from the vehicle. Total dollar loss for purse, wallet, and miscellaneous items was reported at $610. This case was referred to CID-Detectives.

On Dec. 15 a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 4 deputy met with a complainant at the patrol office in reference to a burglary of a vehicle report. The complainant stated someone had stolen her purse from her vehicle which was parked in her driveway on Octavia Drive. The stolen items included a woman’s brown leather purse with $250, eyeglasses valued at $200 and various prescription medications valued at $275. This case was referred to CID-Detectives.

Criminal mischief:

On Dec. 5 a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 4 deputy was dispatched to South Pine Circle concerning a report on criminal mischief. The deputy met with the complainant who stated when she came to the house at approximately 10:30 a.m. she noticed the glass to the exterior door had been broken out and the glass to the window in the rear of the house was also broken out. The total cost for the door repair and/or replacement is $500. This case was referred to CID-Detectives.

On Dec. 3 two Magnolia Police Department officers went to the 18400 block of FM 1488 concerning a verbal disturbance in the parking lot of the Magnolia Family Diner. It was reported a subject left the scene. The subject was identified and located in the Food Basket parking lot on FM 1488. The subject, a man, 55, of Onalaska, returned to the restaurant where it was discovered he damaged his ex-girlfriend’s truck. The man was arrested for criminal mischief and take to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe.

On Dec. 6 a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 4 deputy was dispatched to Bridleway Circle in reference to criminal mischief. The complainant provided information for the report and the deputy observed the exterior damage to the 2006 Dodge Ram 2500, which was painted with gold paint and the paint on the vehicle was damaged with a sharp object. Estimated cost to repair the vehicle is $1,500. This case was referred to CID-Detectives.

On Dec. 7 a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 4 deputy was dispatched to FM 1488, Magnolia Storage, in reference to criminal mischief. The deputy met with the complainant who stated he had parked and secured his 1998 Chevrolet 2500 truck in the parking lot (all buildings and parking lot are behind a six foot fence). Upon returning to his vehicle the next day he found that an unknown suspect had damaged his vehicle. The complainant estimated the damage at $250. This case was referred to CID-Detectives.

Driving while intoxicated:

On Dec. 13 at 12:03 a.m. a Magnolia Police Department officer stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 18000 block of Buddy Riley Boulevard. The officer found the driver, a man, 19, of Magnolia was intoxicated and his two passengers, a female, 15, of Hockley and a man, 28, of Tomball were also intoxicated. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and taken to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe. The passengers where issued citations and released to responsible adults at the scene.

On Dec. 13 while on patrol a a Magnolia Police Department officer found a 2001 Pontiac in the ditch in the 17700 block of FM 1488. The officer approached the driver, a woman, 45, of Magnolia and found she was intoxicated on a narcotic. The woman was arrested after the district attorney’s office accepted the charge, and taken to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe.

On Dec. 18 a Magnolia Police Department officer stopped a vehicle in the 18600 block of FM 1488 for failure to yield to a red light in mild to heavy fog conditions. The driver a woman, 29, of The Woodlands was found to be intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. The vehicle was inventoried and towed. The woman was charged with driving while intoxicated and taken to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe.

Possession:

On Dec. 4 a Magnolia Police Department officer stopped a grey SUV for running a red light at Magnolia Boulevard and FM 1488. The driver, a woman, 22, of Waller gave the officer permission to search the vehicle. The officer located marijuana under the front passenger seat. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana, less than two ounces. The passenger, a woman, 17, of Huntsville was arrested for possession of marijuana, less than two ounces, related to marijuana found on her person, inside a front pants pocket along with a silver grinder. Both were taken to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe where they were given $500 bonds each.

On Dec. 5 a Magnolia Police Department officer stopped a vehicle for defective equipment in the 31800 block of Nichols Sawmill Road. The driver, a man, 45 of Magnolia was arrested for possession of marijuana, less than two ounces, and the passenger, a woman, 47, of Magnolia was arrested for public intoxication. Both were taken to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe.

On Dec. 8 two Magnolia Police Department officers stopped a vehicle for equipment failure, a passenger side light not working on the rear of the vehicle. The driver, a man, 17, of Plantersville, had no driver’s license and was identified through the databases of the National Crime Information Center and the Texas Crime Information Center. The vehicle was inventoried for towing due to no driver’s license and one of the officers found a clear straw with a white powder substance that tested positive for cocaine. The driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and take to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe.

Theft:

On Dec. 12 a Magnolia Police Department officer went to the 17500 block of Fm 1488, Food Basket, and took a report of theft of a 24-pack of beer, valued at less than $20. The officer obtained a description of the subject and the vehicle he was driving. The case is under investigation.

Warrants:

On Dec. 5 a Magnolia Police Department officer stopped a vehicle in the 31000 block of Nichols Sawmill Road for equipment violation. The driver, a man, 22, of Plantersville and the passenger, a woman 26, of Navasota were both found to have outstanding warrants for traffic violations in the city. Both were arrested and released to the city marshal. Their vehicle was towed.

On Dec. 6 a Magnolia Police Department officer stopped a vehicle for an expired registration sticker in the 600 block of Goodson. The driver, a woman, 37, of Pinehurst was found to have open warrants for theft by check of $20 to $500 in Brazos County. She was taken into custody and the vehicle she was driving was released to the passenger.

On Dec. 13 a Magnolia Police Department officer stopped a vehicle for failure to yield to a stop sting in the 18000 block of Buddy Riley Boulevard. The diver, a woman, 25, of Magnolia was found to have an outstanding warrant in Guadalupe County. When the officer inventoried the car for towing he found a bottle of Xanax and possession of a controlled substance was added to the woman’s charge. She was taken to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe and the vehicle was towed.
