Friendswood Police Activity December 5 through 11, 2008

Driving While Intoxicated

December 9 (6:42 p.m.) – A 44-year-old Friendswood man was charged with DWI after he was reported as a possibly intoxicated driver in the 5100 block of FM 2351, He failed a field sobriety test and registered .277 on a breath test.

December 6 (1:55 a.m.) – A 26-year-old League City man was charged with DWI after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 2700 block of S. Friendswood Drive. He failed a field sobriety test and refused to submit to a breath test.


December 5 (5:36 a.m.) – An 18-year-old League City man was charged with DWI after he was reported as a possibly intoxicated driver in the 2000 block of S. Friendswood. He was unable to complete a field sobriety test and registered .151 on a breath test.

Theft

December 7 (9:20 a.m.) – A baby Jesus figure was reported stolen from a Christmas display in the 1200 block of Hawkhill. An inflatable decoration was also damaged during the incident.

December 6 (12:03 p.m.) – A Rolex watch was reported stolen from a vehicle. The watch was reportedly taken from the vehicle while it was being serviced at Victory Circle Car Wash, 300 W. Parkwood.

December 5 (6:52 p.m.) – A wallet was stolen while a family was preparing for a garage sale in the 2100 block of Butler in Polly Ranch subdivision. The wallet was later found in the garage with the money missing.

December 5 (2:07 p.m.) – A 21-year-old Houston man was charged with Theft. Officials with Kroger, 3135 FM 528, had been investigating the man regarding thefts from the store. When questioned by police he admitted to the offense.

Narcotics

December 10 (1:00 a.m.) - A 22-year-old Dickinson man was charged with Tampering With Physical Evidence after he was questioned by Friendswood Police. The man was observed possibly participating in a drug buy in a parking lot in the 3200 block of FM 528. When questioned by police, he dropped several Xanex pills to the ground and attempted to step on them with his foot.

December 7 (4:25 a.m.) – A 24-year-old Heritage Park man was charged with Possession of Marijuana. The man was stopped for a traffic violation in the 300 block of E. Edgewood. He admitted to having marijuana in his possession. A passenger, a 20-year-old Heritage Park woman, was charged with Failure to Identify after she provided a false name to officers. She was found to have outstanding warrants under her true name.

December 6 (2:02 a.m.) – A 23-year-old Pearland man was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While License Invalid. Jones was stopped for a traffic violation in the 1600 block of S. Friendswood Drive. Jones was found to have an invalid driver's license and during arrest, attempted to eat some marijuana.

Domestic Violence

December 7 (4:32 a.m.) – A 38-year-old Houston man was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon following a disturbance in the 500 block of Avondale. The man was involved in an argument with his girlfriend that turned physical. The 34-year-old woman, of Houston, was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury. The man was also charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury.

Vandalism

December 7 (2:03 p.m.) – Letters were reported spary painted on fences in the 800 block of Chelsea at the Friendswood/Pearland city line.

December 7 (1:34 p.m.) – Residents of the 3100 block of Indian Summer Trail in Autumn Creek subdivision reported the tires slashed on several vehicles.

Burglary

December 9 (8:21 a.m.) – An XM radio was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 17000 block of Forest Bend Avenue in Wedgewood subdivision.

December 9 (6:15 a.m.) – A game boy, XM radio receiver, some cash and CD's were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 17000 block of David Glen in Wedgewood subdivision. How the vehicle was entered is not known as the homeowner told police the vehicle had been locked.

December 8 (9:50 p.m.) – An Ipod and a brown leather bag containing personal documents were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of W. Heritage behind a shopping center. A window was broken to gain access to the vehicle.

December 8 (10:24 a.m.) – Cash was reported stolen from a truck parked in the 4300 block of Ravine in Forest Bend subdivision. The truck had been left unlocked.

Miscellaneous

December 10 (12:03 p.m.) – A 37-year-old Baytown woman was charged with failure to identify. She was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 16700 block of Blackhawk. She initially provided officers with an alias. When she provided her real name, she was found to have an outstanding drug warrant in the state of Alabama.

Fraud/Identity Theft

Resident reports someone using her bank card information on two occasions in Bedford. The resident stated she rarely uses her bank cards but had recently made an on-line purchase.

Resident reports unauthorized purchases using his bank card. Resident told police that he had recently relinquished his card while purchasing food at a McDonald's on W. Bay Area Blvd.

Resident reports someone accessing her bank account to make online bill payments.

The following items were found and turned over to police last week:
