Friendswood Police Activity December 19 through 22, 2008

Narcotics

December 20 (11:52 a.m.) – A 17-year-old Friendswood teen was charged with Possession of a Dangerous Drug. He was stopped by officers for a traffic violation in the 100 block of Brandywyne in Whitehall subdivision. He was found to be in possession of a prescription decongestant that was prescribed for another person.

December 19 (10:20 p.m.) – A 19-year-old League City man was charged with Possession of Marijuana after he was observed smoking marijuana in the 5400 block of Timpani in Wedgewood subdivision. When confronted by the officer, he admitted to having the drug in his possession.


December 19 (8:44 a.m.) – A 33-year-old Friendswood man was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was stopped for a traffic violation in the 17100 block of Blackhawk in Forest Bend subdivision. The man admitted to having Vicodin in his possession. He was also found to have drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.

Theft

December 22 – A maroon 1999 Chevrolet truck was reported stolen from the 15500 block of Wandering Trail in Wedgewood subdivision. The victim told police that the truck had been left unlocked and the keys were inside.

December 19 (7:06 p.m.) – A resident of the Enclave at Quail Crossing reported a missing package from UPS that may have been left at the wrong address. The company tracking system indicates that the package was delivered to the wrong apartment. But the package was not found by either resident.

Assault

December 19 (6:38 p.m.) – Police responded to a report of a fight at Stevenson Park, 1100 S. Friendswood Drive. A witness told police that he observed two young women fighting and attempted to call police. One of the women, age 21, of Seabrook, allegedly grabbed his cell phone and threw it away, but another witness was able to contact police. The woman then fled the scene on foot. Police later located her hiding in the trees in the southwest area of the park. She was charged with Aggravated Assault, Interfering with an Emergency Call and Evading Arrest. The 21 year old victim, a Friendswood resident, was struck with a car door during the assault. She was transported to Memorial Hermann Southeast hospital for treatment of possible injuries.

Driving While Intoxicated

December 22 (1:13 p.m.) – A 30-year-old Friendswood woman was charged with DWI after she was reported as a possibly intoxicated driver and was located in the 100 block of N. Friendswood Drive. She failed a field sobriety test and drug recognition exam. During booking, she was found to be in possession of hydrocodone, which she tried to push aside with her feet. She was also charged with Tampering with Evidence. The DWI was filed as a felony because the woman had a young child in the car with her.

December 21 (6:31 a.m.) – A 24-year-old Pearland man was charged with DWI. An officer responding to a report of a vehicle wedged in an automatic gate in the 900 block of Timber Creek Court in The Forest subdivision found the man and a passenger inside the vehicle. The driver failed a field sobriety test and registered .152 on a breath test. The passenger was charged with Public Intoxication.

December 21 (2:19 a.m.) – A 38-year-old Heritage Park man was charged with DWI after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 5400 block of FM 2351. He failed a field sobriety test and was unable to complete a breath test.

December 20 (2:12 a.m.) - A 20-year-old Alvin man was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol by a Minor and Reckless Driving. He was observed traveling at a high rate of speed on W. Parkwood, and making several unsafe lane changes. He was stopped in the 2100 block of W. Parkwood, and displayed signs of intoxication. The man admitted to officers that he had been drinking.

Burglary

December 22 (6:53 p.m.) – A vehicle was burglarized while parked at Baywood Apartments, 5025 FM 2351. The lock and battery were damaged.

December 22 (4:09 p.m.) – An attempted burglary was reported on Sun Meadow Blvd, in Sun Meadow subdivision. The suspects attempted to enter the home by prying a door. The house alarm may have been set off by this action.

December 22 (7:59 a.m.) – A U-Haul truck was burglarized overnight in the 15600 block of Wandering Trail in Wedgewood subdivision. Several suitcases were taken from the truck. The suitcases contained clothing, personal items, jewelry and Christmas gifts.

December 22 (6:15 a.m.) – A vehicle was reported burglarized in the 5300 block of Appleblossom in Wedgewood subdivision. Entry was forced into the vehicle. A wallet, camouflage clothing, CD case, and a garage door opener were taken during the burglary.

Identity Theft/Fraud

Victim reported unauthorized transactions on a deceased family member's bank account.

Victim received six credit cards in the mail that he did not apply for. Each of the cards had already been used to purchase items. Victim recalled filling out a credit application at Circuit City in November.
