Sixteen named academic all-state

Sixteen CFISD football players were selected to the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) 2008-09 Academic All-State Football Team, sponsored by State Farm Insurance.

The teams are selected by a point system that awards points for GPA, class rank and SAT or ACT scores.

One district athlete, Cy-Fair High School senior Matthew Mitchell, was named to the Elite Team, representing the highest possible point total.
