Chili cookoff raises $18,000 for breast cancer survivor
By MATTHEW HUISMAN
A chili cookoff raised money for Diana Sitton, wife of Humble High School baseball coach David Sitton, to offset the cost of her breast cancer treatment. The fundraiser netted $18,531 through the sale of silent and live auction items, a raffle and chili donations. The 85-mile bike run culminated with the 47 bikes ending at Mulligan’s in Atascocita.
“The feeling you get of seeing that many people come out for a good cause is unbelievable,” said Todd Hardy, one of the event organizers. “I just want to say thank you to everybody.”
