Police Report

At 10:43 p.m. on Nov. 24, an officer observed two individual sitting in a parked car in a lot in the 2600 block of Bissonnet. The officer smelled the odor of marijuana upon contact with the individuals and proceeded to find a small bag of marijuana in the car.

An officer stopped a vehicle in the 3800 block of University at 12:55 a.m. on Nov. 25 for defective equipment. After further investigation, the driver was arrested for possession of marijuana.

At 6:43 p.m. on Nov. 25, an officer saw a vehicle with defective equipment traveling in the 3600 block of Sunset. The driver was ultimately arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of a prohibited weapon.

An officer arrived to the 3400 block of Carniegie at 8:17 a.m. on Nov. 24. A built-in television was stolen from an unsecured vehicle sometime during the night, according to the victim.


At 10:33 a.m. on Nov. 25, an officer was dispatched to the 6400 block of Community to investigate a missing bicycle. The bike was taken from an unsecured garage.

An officer arrived to the 5800 block of Kirby to investigate a theft that had taken place. At 7 p.m. on Nov. 23, the officer met with the store clerk who stated that after a man had left the store he noticed several items were missing. The officer gave the clerk a case number.

At 8:04 a.m. on Nov. 25, an officer went to the 6400 block of Mercer to meet with a complainant that said a theft had taken place two weeks prior. He stated that copper tubing and electrical wire had been taken from his home while it was being remodeled.

Officers arrived at a fight in progress in the 2600 block of Bissonnet at 9:03 p.m. on Nov. 25. HPD was detaining several suspects and one of the individuals was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the West University jail.

At 1:52 a.m. on Nov. 27, an officer saw a man sleeping in a parking lot in the 2600 block of Bissonnet. The suspect was found to be intoxicated to the point of being a danger to himself and others, and was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Police were dispatched to the 6700 block of Buffalo Speedway at 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 29 to check a vehicle that was driving without headlights. Police tracked and then stopped the vehicle in the 3100 block of Westpark and after investigation found that the driver was a minor under the influence of alcohol. A passenger was also cited for possession of alcohol. Both individuals were released to a parent.
