Community Partners helps kids
The Christmas Partners Blessing Children Program is off to a great start with plans already underway for this year’s holiday season.
The group provides Christmas gifts for children in CPS care; those children who might otherwise be forgotten this holiday season.
The Community Partners group, a program of the Brazoria County Alliance for Children is seeking donations of holiday gift wrap, ribbons/bows, scotch tape, small gift bags, and of course you have the opportunity to adopt a child!
During the past seven years, Community Partners have been able to serve hundreds of children at Christmas time providing gifts from the kids “wish list”. The organization’s project chairs, Bea Trevino and Jennifer Auer have already received 223 wish lists and more are excepted by next week. Co-chair Trevino is expecting to serve about 450 for this 2008 season.
The organization is able to provide gifts through individual, company or civic group donations or “adoption of a child”, toy drives, or direct monetary donations to the organization. Volunteers process the donations but wrapping and bundling the gifts for each child and seeing that they are delivered to Brazoria County CPS staff. The CPS staff has always made sure that the program is able to deliver gifts to each child.
With 2008’s up’s and down’s it is easy to be discouraged, but during the season of hope, we ask that you give to this worthy cause. Helping a child who without your generosity would perhaps not have a very bright Christmas; together we can make a difference; one child at a time. Please contact Bonnie Martin 979-849-2500 for more information on how you can become a part of Christmas Partners Blessing Children 2008.
