Sheriff Tommy Gage’s Office, District 3, reported the following incidents for the period of Nov. 17 through Nov. 23:

On Nov. 18, Deputy J. Hamilton was notified of a motor vehicle accident in the area of SH 105 and Lee Turner Rd. One of the vehicles had fled the scene. The vehicle was located a short time later in the area of Loop 494 and Hwy. 59. The 49-year-old male from Cleveland was arrested for failure to stop and give information.

On Nov. 21, Deputy J. Amstutz was notified of a burglary of a habitation in the 25600 block of Tiverton Forest Ct. The deputy observed the rear door to be forced open. No suspects were located within the residence. The home owner arrived and gave the deputy information on stolen items. Approximately an hour later the deputy received information that HPD possibly had the suspects stopped in the area of Northpark and Loop 494. As the Deputy responded, he spotted two males matching the description of the suspects stopped by HPD across a drainage ditch. The Deputy observed the males get into a white vehicle. The deputy made a traffic stop and observed the males jump from the back seat and flee. The deputy, with assistance from other law enforcement, located one of the males and detained him. He was one of the same males that had fled from the HPD officer. The 27-year-old male from Porter was arrested, charged with theft and evading arrest, and transported to jail.

On Nov. 22, Deputy J. Amstutz noticed a passenger car in the parking lot at the corner of East Martin and Loop 494. The male driver took off in the vehicle and was observed to commit several traffic violations before the deputy was able to stop him. During the investigation, the male suspect was found to be in possession of a pepper spray canister that is restricted to law enforcement only. The 29-year-old male from Kingwood was arrested, charged with prohibited weapon – chemical dispensing device, and taken to jail.
