Friendswood Police Activity November 21 through 30, 2008

Theft

November 26 (10:50 a.m.) – A ladder was reported stolen from outside a home in the 900 block of Mary's Court in Village Green subdivision.

November 24 (8:55 a.m.) – Two lowboy trailers were reported missing from the Galloway School, 3200 W. Bay Area Blvd. The trailers were last seen November 23.


November 22 (6:35 p.m.) – A wooden scarecrow and accompanying wooden pumpkins were reported stolen from a yard display in the 1100 block of Eagle Lakes in Eagle Lakes subdivision.

November 21 (4:35p.m.) – A camera was reported missing from a vehicle. The victim told police that she believed it was taken while the car was being serviced at Kwik Kar, 1001 S. Friendswood Drive. The camera was later located at a Houston pawn shop. Employees of the local business are cooperating with the investigation.

Driving While Intoxicated

November 28 (11:57 p.m.) – A 45-year-old Alvin man was charged with DWI after he was reported as a possibly intoxicated driver and was located in Webster on Nasa Parkway. He failed a field sobriety test and provided a blood sample for testing. The charge was filed as a felony due to previous convictions.

November 25 (3:11 a.m.) – A 41-year-old Friendswood woman was charged with DWI after she was reported to be driving erratically in the area of S. Friendswood Drive and W. Parkwood Avenue. She was located in the 700 block of W. Parkwood. The woman failed a field sobriety test and refused to submit to a breath test. A passenger in the car was charged with public intoxication.

November 24 (2:12 a.m.) – A 48-year-old Friendswood man was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The man was stopped for driving erratically in the 1500 block of W. Parkwood. He failed a field sobriety test and refused to provide a breath sample. During a search incident to arrest he was found to be in possession of hydrocodone and cocaine.

November 24 (12:11 a.m.) – A 33-year-old Friendswood man was charged with DWI. He was observed driving erratically in the 2500 block of S. Friendswood Drive. He failed a field sobriety test and registered .221 on a breath test.

November 23 (1:34 a.m.) –A 29-year-old Friendswood man was charged with DWI after he was observed driving with a flat tire in the 3200 block of FM 528. He failed a field sobriety test and refused to submit to a breath test.

November 23 (1:04 a.m.) – A 28-year-old Alvin woman was charged with DWI. She was stopped for a traffic violation in the 3700 block of FM 528. She failed a field sobriety test and refused to submit to a breath test.

November 22 (11:40 p.m.) – A 45-year-old Pearland woman was charged with DWI. She was reported as a possibly intoxicated driver and was located in the 700 block of Melody Lane. She failed a field sobriety test and refused to submit to a breath test.

November 22 (2:45 a.m.) – A 45-year-old Friendswood man was charged with DWI and Duty upon Striking a Fixed Object. He was involved in a one-vehicle crash in the 2400 block of Butler in Polly Ranch subdivision. He fled the scene of the crash but was later found by officers. He refused to participate in any form of testing.

Burglary

November 26 (9:53 a.m.) – A vehicle was burglarized while parked in the 16300 block of Townes Road. The homeowner found the suspect, a 21-year-old Friendswood man, inside his vehicle and confronted him. The homeowner and a neighbor held the suspect until police arrived. The suspect was charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.

November 26 (6:56 a.m.) – A vehicle was burglarized while parked in the 3100 block of Red Maple Drive in Autumn Creek subdivision. Items that may have been taken from the unlocked vehicle included a Sterling handgun and chaplain identification.

November 22 (9:25 p.m.) – A large bag of Mary Kay cosmetics was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at Cheers, 502 N. Friendswood Drive. A window was shattered to gain entry to the vehicle.

November 22 (10:34 a.m.) – A vehicle was burglarized and two others were damaged while parked in the 1000 block of W. Castlewood Avenue. The burglarized vehicle had been left unlocked and a phone charger was taken. The other vehicles had been keyed.

Vandalism

November 24 (8:22 p.m.) – The windows of three vehicles parked at a residence in the 16700 block of David Glen in Wedgewood subdivision were shattered, possibly by a pellet gun.

November 24 (6:45 p.m.) –Scratches were found on a vehicle parked at Leslie's Landing, 107 E. Willowick. The scratches appeared to be intentionally made.

November 22 (10:00 a.m.) – A windshield was reported shattered while a vehicle was parked in the 800 block of West Lake Circle in Lakes of Falcon Ridge subdivision.

Narcotics

November 28 (10:00 a.m.) - A 35-year-old Pasadena man was charged with Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia. The man was stopped for a traffic violation in the 400 block of E. Parkwood. He admitted to having a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the car.

November 28 (2:42 a.m.) – A 27-year-old Alvin woman was charged with Possession of Marijuana after she was stopped for a traffic violation in the 900 block of W. Parkwood. She allowed officers to search her vehicle and officers found marijuana.

November 28 (2:30 a.m.) – A 19-year-old Houston man was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. The man was stopped for a traffic violation in the 600 block of S. Friendswood Drive. He was taken into custody for outstanding warrants. During a search incident to arrest, officers found Adderall without a prescription.

November 28 (6:11 p.m.) – A 27-year-old Nassau Bay man was charged with Possession of Marijuana after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 100 block of E. Parkwood. He admitted to having the drug in his car.

November 25 (4:37 p.m.) – A 19-year-old Friendswood man was charged with Possession of Marijuana. During an investigation into a theft at a business in the 300 block of W. Parkwood, officers found Abrams to be in possession of the drug and several forms of drug paraphernalia.

November 24 (10:38 p.m.) – A 19-year-old Pearland man was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Police were investigating a report of a disturbance in the 16500 block of Blackhawk when they stopped the vehicle occupied by the man. He was found to be in possession of Ecstasy.

November 24 (1:00 p.m.) – A 48-year-old Heritage Park man was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was observed smoking marijuana while driving and was stopped in the 100 block of Whispering Pines Drive. He failed a field sobriety test and a drug recognition exam.

November 23 (11:25 a.m.) – An 18-year-old Livingston woman and a 46-year-old Friendswood man were each charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The man was stopped for a traffic violation in the 16100 block of Blackhawk. He was found to be driving without a driver's license. During a search officers found marijuana and a drug pipe in the vehicle.

Family Violence

November 27 (4:54 p.m.) – A 40-year-old Liverpool man was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury and a 36-year-old Friendswood woman was charged with Simple Assault following a disturbance in the 400 block of Bellmar in King's Park subdivision.

November 26 (3:30 a.m.) – A 46-year-old Friendswood man was charged with Interference with an Emergency Telephone Call. During an argument in the 500 block of Mary Ann in Anna Lea subdivision, the man reportedly took the phone away from a family member who was trying to call 9-1-1.

November 22 (11:19 a.m.) – An 18-year-old Friendswood man was charged with Assault by Contact after an argument with a family member turned physical. The incident occurred in the 2800 block of Everett Drive in Windsor Estates subdivision.

Miscellaneous

November 23 (8:47 a.m.) – Employees of the HEB, 701 W. Parkwood Avenue, reported receiving two fake $100 bills.

Identity Theft/Fraud

Unknown person used victim's credit card information to make on-line purchases.

Unknown person used victim's credit card information to make purchases in Alabama.

Unknown person used victim's credit card information to make purchases in Houston.

Unknown person used victim's credit card information to purchase computers via the internet.
