The 8th grade girls cross country came in 2nd at the Berry Miller meet against four other teams. The top five finishers were Brooke Erdmann in 4th, Caitlyn Smith in 12th, Annslee Davidson in 16th, Lindsey Warburton in 17th, and Alyzabeth Vincent in 24th. The 7th grade girls ran with the 8th grade girls in the meet last night and were unfortunately not able to place. The girls did a great job!

The Lady Fawns won their first game, beating Friendswood 9-6. Taylor Overstreet led the team in scoring with 6 points while Camrhen Sampson had 3.
Camrhen Sampson led the team in rebounds with 9, Courtney O’Sullivan had 6 and Amanda Dahnke had 4.
Camrhen Sampson led the team in steals wtih 7 while Alicia Nettles had 5 and Amanda Anatra had 3.

The 8B Lady Vikings defeated Pearland South by a score of 24-11. This was a great way to open the season with a big win.
The leading scorers for the night were LaChelle Wilmeth, Kalee Shoemaker, Erika Stephens, Jessica Valverde, and Allison Smith all with 4 points each. Katie Tadlock and Malorie Lee both contributed 2 points a piece.
On the defensive side of the game leading the team with steals was Erika Stephens with 7 steals. Followed up by Kaylee Shoemaker, LaChelle Wilmeth, Malorie Lee and Jessica Valverde all having 3 steals a piece. Bailey Davis, Madeline Wadsworth, and Ashley Warren all had a steal each.
Leading on the boards were Allison Smith and Malorie Lee both with 6 rebounds each. Bailey Davis, Katie Tadlock, Kaylee Shoemaker, and Dominyque DeLeon all had 3 rebounds a piece. Ashley Warren and Taylor Tice both had a rebound each.

7th Grade B team dominated Pearland South in Basketball with a score of 34-12. Racking up the points were Jenna Fife with 6, Brianna Vasquez with 8, Leslie Nava with 2, Michelle Vu with 2, Katherine Metcalfe with 8, Skye Garcia with 2, Taryn Munoz with 2, and Abbie Butler with 2. Assisting to the win with aggressive defense was Alaska Reed, Christan Guzman, Selena DelaCruz, Hannah Malley, Miranda Caffall, and Madison Davis. Great job ladies lets keep up the winning streak!

Congratulations to the 7th grade A Lady Vikings on beating Pealand South 27-23.
Leading scorer for the game was Fabiola Cuza with 10 points. Caiatlin Plocheck had 8 points. Madison Johnson had 4 points. Maddi Haltom had 3 points. Alexis Halling had 2 points. Also contributing to the win with tough defense was Kelsey Davis, Sarah Freshour, McKayla Gastian, Devann Hebert and Morgan Plunkett. The girls showed a great deal of spunk and determination for their first game. Coach Lamberth was pleased with the hustle and the never quit until the last buzzer of the game.

Expansion set for 2009
The Women’s Blue Chip Basketball League is currently accepting team applications for the 2009 season. The goal for the 2009 season is to establish at least 50 solid teams across North America and in Other Countries.
Open enrollment for the upcoming season ends Jan. 31, 2009.

ECBA seeking local teams
Introducing the Elite Club Basketball Association, (ECBA). Our goal is to provide high quality men’s basketball on the Semi-Professional level.
The ECBA administrative staff has worked hard to improve the level of Semi-Pro Basketball in the United States and to make the league operations efficient and appealing to the members.
The ECBA offers great exposure and top rate competition. The league is designed to show scouts what players are capable of doing in live game situations. Teams will compete against very talented former-college and professional players with a variety of experience.
We are expecting to start 2009 with 20 to 25 teams across Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, and other states.
The 2009 Season begins on May 16 and ends Aug. 15, 2009. The 2009 schedule will feature weekly games played on Saturdays.
Team enrollment ends Jan. 31, 2009.
