Waller Freshman football lose to Brenham 38-0

WALLER - The Freshman football teams played the Brenham Cubs this past Thursday In Brenham.  The white team got off to a slow start and was never able to catch up to the Cubs offense.  Even though the final score of the game was 38-0, the defense never stopped battling and fought hard to the last second of the game.  However, the offense was never able mount a consistent drive and had numerous turnovers. 

Several players played their hearts and never gave up.  Those players include, but are not limited:  Shane West, Israel Reyes, Cameron Madden, Scottie Zwick, Jacob Mata and Mike Hulick.    

 


 For the maroon team, the Cubs struck pay dirt twice in the 1st quarter and the Bulldogs answered to keep the score close at 15-7.  The Cubs would score twice more to end the first half at 28-7.  Unfortunately, the Bulldogs were not able to put another score on the board while the Cubs scored 3 more touchdowns.  The final score of the game was Brenham 49 and Waller 7.  Defensive stand outs for the maroon team were Jyrin Broussard, T. J. Nelson, and Stephen Bolin, and the offense was led by Seth Sassie, Hunter Schmidt, and Eric Huffman.  Waller’s Maroon team ended district with a 3-3-1 record for the year.
