  • Gave the Texans a 5-7 record in 2008, which tied them for their best record after 12 games in team history (2004 and 2007).

  • Houston scored 30 points for the second time this season. The Texans scored 35 in a victory over Cincinnati (10/26). It was the ninth time in franchise history that the Texans scored 30 or more points.


 


  • The Texans scored a touchdown on the opening drive of the game for the second consecutive game. It was the third consecutive game in which Houston has scored on its opening drive.


 


  • Houston led after the first quarter for the third consecutive game and the fifth time this season. Houston is 3-1 in games this season when leading after the first quarter.


 


  • Houston led at halftime for the sixth time this season and the third consecutive game. The Texans are 3-2 when leading at halftime this season.


 


  • Houston has not allowed a touchdown in seven consecutive quarters. The last time the Texans allowed a touchdown was the fourth quarter at Indianapolis (11/16).


 


  • Houston tied a franchise record by holding its opponents scoreless for four consecutive quarters. The Texans shut out Cleveland in the second half last week (11/23) and shut out Jacksonville in the first half tonight.


 


  • Houston led 16-3 after three quarters. It was the fifth time the Texans led after three quarters. Houston is 3-1 in those games.


 


  • Houston won the toss and elected to receive.


 


  • Game captains for the Texans were K Kris Brown, WR Andre Johnson, FB Vonta Leach, LB DeMeco Ryans, and DE Mario Williams.


 


  • K Kris Brown scored in his 80th consecutive game.


  • Brown connected on a 50-yard field goal in the third quarter. It was Brown’s first field goal of 50+ yards this season. Brown is 15-of-28 (53.6 percent) from beyond 50 yards in his career.


  • Brown nailed a 20-yard field goal in the third quarter to improve to three-for-three in the game.


  • Brown scored 12 points in the game to up his season scoring total to 90. Brown has scored 627 points as a Texan and 963 points in his career.


  • TE Owen Daniels caught a pass in his 31st consecutive game when he hauled in a 14-yard pass in the first quarter.


  • Daniels caught two passes for 25 yards, upping his season reception total to 50. It is Daniels’ second consecutive 50-catch season. He had 63 catches in 2007.


  • SS Nick Ferguson recovered a fumble in the first quarter. It was his first of the season and the fourth of his career.


  • WR Jacoby Jones recorded his first career rushing attempt when he lined up in the shotgun. He lost five yards on the rush.


  • WR Andre Johnson caught a pass in his 46th consecutive game with a 12-yard reception on the first play of the game. Johnson has caught a pass in 81 of his 82 career games.


  • Johnson caught his fourth touchdown pass of the season and the 29th of his career on a 31-yard completion from QB Sage Rosenfels.


  • With his touchdown, Johnson passed RB Domanick Williams for first place in franchise history.  He was tied with Williams at 28 career touchdowns.


  • Johnson’s touchdown gave him 174 career points, putting him in first place in franchise history among non-kickers.


  • Johnson finished the game with seven receptions for 75 yards, pushing his season totals to 88 catches for 1,146 yards. He is just one yard shy of his career high in yards. He gained 1,147 yards on 103 catches in 2006.


  • CB Jacques Reeves intercepted his team-high fourth pass of the season when he picked off Jacksonville QB David Garrard in the first quarter. It was Reeves’ fifth career interception.


  • Reeves has intercepted a pass in each of the last two games to tie the franchise record. It was the eighth time in franchise history that a player had consecutive games with an interception. The last was by CB Fred Bennett in 2007 (11/25/07-12/2/07).


  • Reeves’ four interceptions on the season place him in a tie for third in the AFC and sixth in the NFL.


  • DT DelJuan Robinson forced a fumble in the first quarter. It was his first career forced fumble.


  • QB Sage Rosenfels threw his 30th career touchdown pass when he hit WR Andre Johnson for a 31-yard score.


  • Rookie RB Steve Slaton ran for 130 yards on 21 carries.


  • Slaton’s 130 rushing yards gave him his third 100-yard rushing performance of the season. With three career 100-yard games, Slaton moves into second place in franchise history. RB Domanick Williams had 11 100-yard games from 2003-05 and RB Ron Dayne had two from 2006-07.


  • Slaton’s 130 rushing yards were the second-most on Monday night this season. New England RB Sammy Morris rushed for 138 yards against Denver (10/20).


  • Slaton’s 182 combined yards from scrimmage (130 rushing, 52 receiving) were the most in his career and were the fifth-most in team history. It was the highest single-game yardage total by a Texans player since RB Domanick Williams had 189 total yards (139 rushing, 50 receiving) on 12/11/05 at Tennessee.


  • Slaton scored on a seven-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. It was his seventh rushing touchdown of the year.


  • Slaton’s two rushing touchdowns were his eighth and ninth overall this season. That sets a Texans franchise rookie record. RB Domanick Williams scored eight touchdowns in 2004.


  • Slaton scored on a 40-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. It was Slaton’s ninth touchdown overall (eight rushing, one receiving) this season, setting a franchise rookie record. RB Domanick Williams scored eight touchdowns, all rushing, in 2003.


  • Slaton’s two rushing touchdowns matched the season-high on Monday night. He was the sixth player to run for a pair of scores on Monday Night Football this year.


  • Slaton’s two rushing touchdowns tied a franchise single-game high. It was the 25th time in team history that a player scored two touchdowns in a game and it was the second double-touchdown game for Slaton this season.


  • Slaton caught a career-long 46-yard pass in the third quarter. His previous long was also against Jacksonville, a 30-yard touchdown catch in Week 4 (9/28).


  • LB Chaun Thompson recovered an onside kick in the third quarter. It was Thompson’s first kickoff return of the season and the first of his career.


  • P Matt Turk had a punt downed at the one-yard line in the first quarter.


  • Turk attempted his second career pass when he tried to convert after a botched field goal attempt in the second quarter. His previous attempt came on 9/29/02 at Jacksonville as a member of the New York Jets.


  • All three of Turk’s punts were downed inside the 20-yard line.


  • DE Mario Williams sacked Jacksonville QB David Garrard for an eight-yard loss in the second quarter.


  • Williams recorded his second sack of the game when he dropped Garrard for no gain in the third quarter.


  • Williams recorded his third sack of the game when he ripped the ball out of Garrard’s arm in the fourth quarter. Three sacks are a season high for Williams.


  • With three sacks, Williams has four multi-sack games this season and the eighth of his career.


  • Williams’ three sacks in the game gave him 11.0 for the season.


  • The forced fumble was Williams’ fourth of the season and the seventh of his career.


  • Williams has accounted for 11 of the Texans’ 20 sacks on the season.


  • Williams finished with six tackles, five solos, three sacks for minus-25 yards, four tackles for loss, three quarterback hits and a forced fumble.


  • FS Eugene Wilson and SS Nick Ferguson tied for the team lead with eight tackles apiece. Wilson had eight solos and Ferguson had six solos.


  • DT Jeff Zgonina recovered the fumble. It was his first of the season and the 10th of his career.
