Navy Seaman Recruit Jerome Angelo B. Encarnacion, son of Annabelle B. and Teodorico R. Encarnacion of Pearland, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
Encarnacion is a 2008 graduate of Texas Preparatory Academy of Alvin.

Army National Guard Pvt. Jared C. Pyland has graduated from Basic Combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.
He is the son of Fred Pyland of Pearland, and is a 2008 graduate of Pearland High School.
