A man was found dead in his car early this morning after an ambulance discovered it flipped over in the bayou.
Cy-Fair EMS was returning from a call at about 2:30 a.m. when they came across pipe laying in the 7300 block of Windfern Road and noticed part of the bridge was missing, said Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department Public Information Officer Mark Kimberley.
“They stopped and they looked over and at that time they saw a vehicle upside down in the bayou and called in for back up,” Kimberley said.
He said when they got there, the rescue personnel went down to the truck and discovered a lifeless body.
The medical examiner’s office identified the man when they extricated the body around 6 a.m., Kimberley said.
He said the man appeared to be Caucasian and in his forties.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Public Information said the man was driving a 2008 Ford F-250, traveling north on Windfern when he struck a concrete curb and then the metal guardrail.
He continued driving north, going over the guardrail and falling 23-feet landing upside down in the bayou.
The case is still under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division.
