Warriors fall, Highlanders win

The Woodlands Christian Academy, minus a handful of players on the school’s playoff football team, lost a 54-53 decision to area 3A public school power Stafford at home Tuesday night.
TWCA, 2-2 on the season, got a game-high 17 points from Derek Johnson and 12 apiece from Evan Flance and Cameron Wilson.
The Warriors are scheduled to compete in the San Antonio Christian Tournament Thursday through Saturday.
The Woodlands 69, Dickinson 61
The Highlanders came out on top in their season opener Tuesday as they claimed a 69-61 victory over Dickinson.
Adrian Medina led both offensively and defensively for The Woodlands, with 14 points and 16 rebounds. Jordan Alpha, Michael Williams and Justin Nelson added 12 points each.
“This was an outstanding effort and we really fought hard the entire game,” Woodlands coach Dale Reed said. “I’m very proud of the way the boys played tonight.”
The Woodlands will play at Bryan at 7:30 p.m. Friday
