Magnolia High’s academic UIL team places second in invitational

Magnolia High School’s University Interscholastic Academic team finished second out of 20 teams competing Nov. 8 during the Westfield High School Invitational.

According to Jeff Springer, MHS’s principal, most of the teams his school’s academic team faced were 5A schools.

MHS students who placed include:

Whitney Briscoe, first in News Writing; Megan Briscose, fourth in News Writing; Crystal Watson, fourth in Literary Criticism; Tad Morgan, fifth in Literary Criticism; Jeffery Fulkerson, first in Accounting; Leticia Romero, third in accounting; Lindsey Bell, fifth in Accounting (the accounting team placed first in the category);Linsey Anderson, second in Editorial; Megan Briscoe third in Editorial; Kayla Burch, fourth in Editorial; Whitney Brisloe, first in Feature Writing; Lindsey Anderson, second in Feature Writing; Megan Briscoe, third in Feature Writing; Sarah Billeaud, first in Computer Applications; Victor Escutia, second in Computer Applications; Jamison Abston, fifth in Computer Applications; Luke Nocolini, second in Science; Killan Ashley, fifth in Science; Whiteney Brisoce, first in Headline; Michelle Shutts, fourth in Ready Writing; and Ashle Dietrich, fifth in Spelling.
