Girls between the ages of 13 and 18 may now apply for the title of 2009 Miss Teen Magnolia.
The titleholder of 2009 Miss Teen Magnolia will represent her area at the Miss Teen Texas Pageant to be held at the Scottish Rite Auditorium in San Antonio, April 11 through 13, 2009. The young woman selected as Miss Teen Magnolia will become an ambassador from the Magnolia area and receive an official title and sash
Miss Teen Magnolia 2008 was resident Tessa Spisak. And like Spisak the young lady crowned 2009 Miss Teen Texas will receive a scholarship and prize package valued at more than $15,000 and the opportunity to represent Texas at the 2009 Miss Teen International Pageant.
The American Heart Association is the official charity of the Miss Teen Texas International Pageant. In 2008, the International Pageants joined the American Heart Association’s “Go Red For Women” movement and each state titleholder championed heart disease as a national platform in addition to promoting their own platform throughout the year.

The current reigning 2008 Miss Teen Texas is Hilary Elizondo of Corpus Christi. Elizondo is a national spokesperson for DoSomething.org. As Miss Teen Texas, and in conjunction with DoSomething.org, she speaks to youth and teens about their power to make a difference. She looks to inspire a “generation of doers”. DoSomething.org provide teens the tools and resources for youth to convert their ideas and energy into positive action (www.dosomething.org).
Teen contestants will compete in personal interview, fitness wear, fun fashion wear and evening gown. There is no talent or swimsuit competition.
