Westside library meeting on Dec. 4
Friends of the Pearland Westside Library will host a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. on Dec. 4 at Berry Miller Junior High School.
The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss a proposal for a temporary Brazoria County Library System branch on the west side of Pearland.
The group plans to submit such a proposal in January to the city of Pearland, which would be responsible for obtaining the lease for a temporary storefront location. In Brazoria County, cities have usually funded buildings and the county has provided staff, books and supplies.
The group also will propose that Pearland and Brazoria County open a permanent library after it is possible to consider bond funds at a later date. Please visit www.fopwl.org to take a survey about the project, or call 281-756-1505 for more information.
