‘Tree of Life’ honors past doctors and medical staff

As a way to honor the lives of those doctors and staff members who saved the lives of so many, the Houston Northwest Medical Center put the “Tree of Life” work of art on permanent display.

The “Tree of Life” was dedicated by the Rev. Glenn Wilkerson and Chaplain Paul Polk on Nov. 14 in honor of those staff members, physicians and volunteers who passed away while actively serving in the hospital and community.

The piece was funded through the hospital’s Tenet Circle of Excellence Award, which also provided grant money for the Houston Northwest Medical Center’s outstanding 2007 accomplishments in the areas of service, quality and growth.

Hospital officials said they couldn’t think of a more fitting way to honor those who helped earn the award, as they cannot bear witness to it themselves.
