Fundraiser in the works for man with kidney cancer

Sue Honeycutt’s son, Kurt Ridley, was diagnosed with kidney cancer earlier this year. He has had eight weeks of radiation treatment, yet this has not helped the father of five.
Now Ridley has to take three injections a day at a cost of about $400 a week. He has no health insurance.
"He is still trying to work," Honeycutt said. "He feels like he has no choice. He is in constant pain and we are trying to do what we can to help relive some of the financial burden."
Honeycutt said they are holding a raffle at her work for a shotgun and a diamond ring, which she hopes can help prevent Ridley from losing his home by Dec. 1.
To help with Ridley’s medical expenses, Honeycutt is organizing a fundraiser at the Veteran of Foreign Wars hall Post 912 in Baytown at noon, Jan. 17, 2009.
The fundraiser will offer barbeque plates and a silent auction. Honeycutt said they are looking for anyone who can donate food or items for the auction.
