Man charged with copper theft
On Oct. 27, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies K. Fickessen and S. Willis were dispatched to a business at 2310 W. F.M. 1960 in reference to a theft.
Upon their arrival they met with a witness who said he saw a man stealing copper out of an air-conditioning unit.
The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Norberto Miranda, was arrested and charged with Felony Criminal Mischief.
He is being held without bond in the Harris County Jail until his next court appearance on Dec. 5.
Police arrest sleeping woman, charge with drug paraphernalia
On Oct. 29, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy J. Copher was conducting a parking lot check of the local apartment complexes off of Cypress Station.
As he was driving through the parking lot of the Seasons Apartment Complex, he saw a vehicle in the middle of a parking aisle running with someone inside.
As he approached the vehicle he found a female asleep in the driver seat. Copher woke the woman to inquire as to what she was doing. While questioning her, Copher could detect the distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath.
After further investigation, Copher found numerous narcotics paraphernalia. In addition, he found numerous bags containing a crystal like substance that later field tested positive for methamphetamine. Michelle Chandler, 40, of Conroe was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
She is in the Harris County Jail on a $20,000 bond awaiting her next court appearance on Nov. 21.
Man arrested for forging checks
On Nov. 3, Deputy R. Cockerham was dispatched to the Chase Bank at 4165 W. F.M. 1960 in reference to a forged check for $600.
The original account holder was contacted and told officers she had not written a check for $600 to anyone. The suspect was arrested and charged with felony forgery.
While in custody, Cockerham found a second check belonging to the same account holder in the amount of $300 in the man’s possession.
Brandon Preston, 24, is being held in the Harris County Jail on a No Bond awaiting his next court appearance on Dec. 15.
Vending machine thief arrested
On Nov. 3, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy B. Collins was dispatched to the Spring Lodge located at 20543 North I-45 in reference to theft.
Collins met with the complainant who said he had video footage of one of the tenants breaking into the vending machines on two separate occasions and stealing approximately $600.
Collins found the man inside his room and arrested him for burglary of a coin operated machine.
Spring resident Johnny Linker, 39, pled guilty to the charge and was sentenced to 45 days confinement in the Harris County Jail.
