TSMC to host pitching, hitting

The Texas Sports Medicine Center will hold a baseball performance clinic and seminar for coaches and high school players Nov. 21 and 22. Nationally recognized pitching instructor, Tom House, and former MLB hitting coach, Don Slaught, will instruct the coach’s seminar and players hitting and pitching sessions.
The coach’s lecture will be Nov. 21 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in Tomball Hospital’s fifth floor conference room. High school players can sign up for hitting and/or pitching instruction held at TSMC, Nov. 22. Two sessions are offered for the players; the first session is from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the second session is 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Players can attend one session for $100 or two sessions for $175. Coaches have admission to the seminar on Friday and clinic on Saturday for $100.
The pitching instructor, Tom House, is recognized as one of the world’s foremost authorities on pitching. He pitched on the professional level for the Atlanta Braves, the Boston Red Sox, San Diego Padres and the Texas Rangers. Currently, he is head pitching coach at the University of Southern California.
Hitting instructor, Don Slaught, is a veteran of 16 seasons at the major league level as a catcher and was named the Detroit Tigers hitting coach in 2005. In his first professional coaching position, the Tigers won the American League Championship after 13 consecutive losing seasons.
