Friendswood Police Activity November 15 through 20, 2008
Narcotics
November 20 (3:55 p.m.) – A 20-year-old Friendswood man was charged with Possession of Marijuana, after he and a friend were involved in a verbal disturbance at HEB, 701 W. Parkwood. The pair left the scene but was shortly located and detained by officers. While being questioned regarding the disturbance, a canine officer alerted to possible drugs in the vehicle. Officers found marijuana mixed with melted butter in a container in the car. The man explained to police that he was planning to make brownies with the mix. A package of brownie mix was also found in the car. The man’s acquaintance was given a Criminal Trespass warning for the store and released.
November 19 (11:39 p.m.) – A 37-year-old Alvin man was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 2500 block of W. Parkwood. He was found to have a revoked driver's license. During a search incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A passenger in the car was arrested on local municipal warrants.
Nov. 17 (4:42 p.m.) – An 18-year-old Friendswood man was charged with Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia. Hewas a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 900 block of Melody Lane. During the stop he admitted to being in possession of marijuana.
Nov. 16 (8:40 a.m.) – A 24-year-old Alvin man and a 23-year-old Webster woman were charged with Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia. The pair were found asleep in a vehicle behind a building in the 1500 block of S. Friendswood. The man allowed officers to search the car and marijuana was found.
Nov. 15 (12:25 p.m.) – A 28-year-old Friendswood man was charged with Public Intoxication and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 16900 block of Bougainvilla. He displayed signs of intoxication and during a search incident to arrest, he was found to be in possession of Ambien without a prescription.
Nov. 15 (9:45 a.m.) - A 20-year-old Friendswood man was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 1600 block of W. Parkwood. Officers observed marijuana in the car. During a search incident to arrest, drug paraphernalia was also found.
Family Violence
Nov. 15 (4:17 p.m.) – A 42-year-old Seabrook man was charged with Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon and Terroristic Threats. The man allegedly was creating a disturbance at a home in the 400 block of N. Shadowbend. He was found to be in possession of an illegal butterfly knife.
Nov. 15 (3:35 p.m.) –A 25-year-old Friendswood man was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury after he was involved in an argument with his wife that turned physical in the 400 block of Silverleaf.
Nov. 15 (10:34 a.m.) - A 25-year-old man was charged with Simple Assault and Interference with an Emergency Phone Call following a disturbance in the 5100 block of Whittier Oaks. The offenses occurred when an argument between the man and his ex-girlfriend turned physical.
Vandalism
Nov. 16 (11:18 a.m.) – Vandalism was reported to a vehicle that was parked in the 200 block of St. Cloud Drive in Sun Meadow subdivision. Profanity and other words had been spray painted on the car.
Identity Theft/Fraud
Resident reported that someone forged a check using old account information
Resident reported that someone passed checks using his personal information
Resident reported someone using her credit card information to make purchases in Illinois
