Local AAA partners with ‘Toys for Tots’ this holiday season
By OBSERVER STAFF REPORTS
The Humble AAA office, as well as the other eight locations in the Houston area, is teaming up with the Toys for Tots program to collect toys for the 2008 holiday season.
AAA is encouraging the community to drop off new and unwrapped toys that will be distributed during the week leading up until Christmas.
“So many of our neighbors across the south Texas region lost everything in the hurricane, and many children were affected,” said Lisa Guertin, AAA Texas regional manager. “Our AAA offices recognized collecting for Toys for Tots is a service we could offer in the community and we are proud to support an organization that has established itself as a leader in reaching needy children.
The Toys for Tots program is accepting new toys of any kind for any age group. Last year more than 80,000 toys and educational materials were collected and distributed in the Houston area. Nationwide the program reached more than seven million children.
Texas residents are welcome to drop off donations at any Houston area office through mid-December. People can log onto www.aaa.com to find the location nearest them.
Donations will be accepted at the Humble AAA, located at 9761 FM 1960 Bypass, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
