Little Theatre needs ‘Cheaters’ actors
Pasadena Little Theatre, 4318 Allen-Genoa Road, is holding auditions for Cheaters by Michael Jacobs on Sunday, December 7 and Monday, December 8 at 7:00PM. Performances are weekends January 23 through February 8, 2009. This production is directed by Judie Valentine and she may be reached at garbov@aol.com. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
Three men and three women are needed.
Characters descriptions:
Howard 50 - 65 is a bit stiff and unromantic
Grace (Howard's wife) 45 - 60 naive and totally quilt ridden
Michelle (Howard & Grace's daughter) 20's + her one goal
is to marry Allen
Sam 50 - 65 very gentle, nervous type
Monica (Sam's wife) 45 - 60 very take charge & snobbish
Allen (Sam & Monica's son) 20's + somewhat unsure
of his love for Michelle, needs to be pushed
All of these characters will be in funny, constantly changing situations.
While there is a lot of comedy, there is also a very tender, vulnerable side to each character.
Synopsis:
Allen and Michelle have been living together for eighteen months. Michelle thinks they should marry; Allen isn't sure. His hesitancy drives her home to her parents for advice. Michelle's father isn't aware that it is Allen's mother he has been seeing for the last six months and would now like to get rid of, nor does Michelle's mother know that it is Allen's father she has just spent the night with and would like to see more of. The pieces fall uproariously into place when the parents decide to meet the young lovers over dinner. It's suddenly everyone for him self in this wild rollicking look at love and romance.
