Friends of Bay Area Turning Point, an independent organization which has been dedicated for the past twelve years to promoting programs and fundraising goals of Bay Area Turning Point (BATP), a United Way affiliate, has now become an auxiliary organization within the agency, according to Myrna Baker, Friends Auxiliary chairperson for 2008 – 2009.
“As part of BATP, the Friends Auxiliary continues a long heritage of community members supporting programs and events that enhance awareness of the mission of BATP. This consolidation will streamline tasks and eliminate duplicate rolls that previously existed between the Friends and the agency,” Baker said.
Bay Area Turning Point is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides shelter and non-residential crisis intervention and support services to victims of family violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse and homelessness in the Greater Bay Area.
