Red Door Realty opens
Red Door Realty & Associates, or “RDR” as Jill Henderson, Christi Harvey and their associates fondly call their new real estate firm, will be celebrating with a grand opening celebration Dec. 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at their Atascocita office.
RDR is a full-service real estate company that understands just how competitive the market is and they understand the programs they have to put in place for their sellers to have a competitive edge.
To create that edge, RDR teamed up with Homeworks, a professional staging and redesign company owned and operated by Kitt Ingersoll and Ann Shirley.
Not only that but Henderson and Harvey have put plans in place to help their sellers “go green,” as buyers may appreciate a seller’s effort to make their existing home more eco-friendly.
RDR welcomes anyone interested in joining them for their grand opening celebration and even those who want to break into the real estate business can see what they are all about.
Light hors d'oeuvres and spirits will welcome guests.
Red Door Realty & Associates is located at 7010 FM 1960 East, Suite 104, in Atascocita. For more information, call 281-852-DOOR (3667).
Local toy store offers new game
Kapok Tree Toys in Kingwood has found a new family game that makes giving someone coal in their stocking a great holiday gift.
It’s called “Lumps, the Elf Coal Game,” a fast-paced family dice game that contains dice that look like charcoal and comes packaged in a small plastic Christmas stocking. The game is a break-out success and many retailers across the U.S. are having a hard time keeping it on their shelves.
“‘Lumps, the Elf Coal Game’ is a lot of fun to play,” said Pam Wilson, owner of Kapok Tree Toys in Kingwood. “The way it is packaged makes it a great stocking stuffer.”
The goal of the game is to be the first player to score 100 points. Players score points by rolling pairs of the same number. Roll a pair of 3s, score 3 points, a pair of 10s scores 10 points.
For more information, call 281-360-6218 or visit Kapok Tree Toys at 4580 Kingwood Dr., Suite A in Kingwood.
Consultant throws board game parties
Put 10 to 20 people in a room with Renee Warren and you’ve got yourself a party. A board game party.
As a SimplyFun consultant based in New Caney, Warren’s role is to help families have more face-to-face fun through products that are engaging for all ages while fitting into the schedule of today’s busy families.
“I adore the mission of SimplyFun - of getting away from TV and video games and having face-to-face entertainment,” said Warren.
“We create products that promote healthy play for everybody - broad age range, short in time to play and simple enough to learn quickly,” said Gail DeGiulio, company founder.
Rather than sitting on a shelf at the local toy store, the company’s favored sales venue is direct-selling parties, similar to companies such as Tupperware, Mary Kay and Pampered Chef.
“When people can play the games and experience the fun, they can decide for themselves whether it’s the right product for them,” DeGiulio said. “The games sell themselves.”
During a one-and-a-half-hour party, guests will experience five to 10 games, as well as preview the company’s other products including puzzles, plush puppets and fun family activities.
“Everyone loves the party,” said Warren. “It’s not just about me selling something - you’re sitting around the table playing games with friends.”
“Our whole mission is to promote the importance of play,” said DeGiulio. “We realize that life is busy and hectic, but if people take a little time to turn off the extra noise and play together, they create long-lasting memories and bonds that tie families together.”
