Tri-County MHMR gets $20,000 from Burnham Classic
By MIKE GEORGE
Cindy Sell drove in from Montgomery County on Monday, Nov. 17, to pick up a check for $20,000 from proceeds of the Burnham Golf Classic held this past August at Magnolia Ridge County Club given to Tri-County Mental Health and Mental Retardation.
“This is the only organized fund drive that we benefit from over the three counties,” said Sell. “I just got word that Montgomery County is going to be putting together a fund raiser on our behalf, but for right now, this is the only one.”
The three counties that benefit from the organization which treats mental health and other disorders are Montgomery, Walker and Liberty. Of the three counties, Liberty County is the smallest in population.
“How about that!” exclaimed Bruce Burnham. “We might be the least, but we give the most.”
Sell was beaming.
“You sure do and we really appreciate it,” stated Sell.
