With Thanksgiving on the horizon, many shoppers are already turning their attention to holiday shopping.

Katy Mills Mall will start a new holiday tradition, with a Midnight Madness event on Black Friday, Nov. 28. Stores will offer discounts, while shoppers can enter to win shopping sprees. Katy Mills will be open from midnight until 10 p.m.

For more information on events and the Midnight Madness event visit http://www.katymills.com.

LaCenterra will host a shopping and holiday kick-off breakfast at 8:30 a.m. on Black Friday with the first 50 power-shoppers in attendance will receive a LaCenterra shopping survival kit filled with discounts and holiday goodies. Several lucky shoppers will walk away with LaCenterra gift cards in denominations ranging from $25 to $100. Cards accepted at all LaCenterra retailers.

LaCenterra will open early at 9 a.m. and will close at 9 p.m

Katy residents who aren't ready to brave the lines at the malls and want to help a local parent teacher association can head to Bonnie Holland Elementary school for the Northern Lights Holiday Market on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The market will feature handcrafted jewelry, “bling” apparel, home and holiday décor, hair accessories and more.

Santa will be available for photographs, taken by photographer Dana Kestler of Dana Kestler Photography.

Even if you've already shopped around you can get your gifts wrapped at the holiday market to help take the stress out of the holiday season.

Bonnie Holland Elementary is located at 23720 Seven Meadows Parkway.
