Anderson named to Better Business Bureau board of directors

The Better Business Bureau that serves the eight-counties of Southeast Texas and the Bolivar Peninsula, has announced 10 members of its board of directors who were recently elected by BBB Accredited Businesses. Each will serve a three-year term from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2011.

Regional business leaders elected include Alfred Anderson, owner of Anderson Ford Mercury; Dan Bell, VP/Sr. branch manager of MCT Credit Union; George Crawford, general manager of Lamar Advertising; Mike Elrod, general manager of KBMT-TV Channel; Gisela Houseman, owner of Tony Houseman Homes.

Five additional leaders who were elected include Mark Russo, customer service manager of Entergy Texas; John Thomasson, vice president – Human Resources at Brock Enterprises; Corinne Creason, owner of Manning’s School Supplies; Steve McGrade, president of Able Fasteners, Inc.; and Gail Shook, owner of Airport Travel Agency;

These individuals join 20 other current directors, which include Slate Babineaux, vice president of Air Comfort; Tim Baker, president of Baker Auto Repair; Robert Bertrand, president of Cotton Cargo; Vesta Brandt, general manager of Clear Channel Radio; Barry Bryant, sales manager of Bill Clark Pest Control; Jim Broussard, co-CEO of Broussard’s Mortuary; Rey de la Fuente, president of Conn’s Credit Company; Jed Dollinger, senior partner (retired) of Wathen, Deshong & Juncker, CPA; Robert Edgar, principal manager of Edgar, Kiker & Cross, CPA; and Shawn Hanley, VP/Marketing of Howell Furniture Galleries;


Also currently on the board is Bill Hecht, regional CFO of CHRISTUS Southeast Texas; Ron Reed, president of MidSouth Bank; Ann Scoggin, owner of Coldwell Banker Southern Homes; Michael Sculley, sales manager of Kirksey’s Sprint Printing; E.J. Sherlock, part owner of J.S. Edwards & Sherlock Insurance; and Paul Skinner, owner/president of Star Graphics, Inc.; Tim Sudela, president of American Valve & Hydrant; Bo Weinbaum, owner of PRIMCO; Ron Wheeler, general manager of Southern Lawn & Maintenance; and R.O Williams, Jr., owner of Republic Payment Plans.
