Nassau Bay man was driver in fatal wreck

A third Texas Tech student is dead following an automobile accident Sunday afternoon just east of Plantersville as the students were returning to Lubbock after having attended the Renaissance Festival.
Chelsea Wiseman, 18, of Austin, died Tuesday evening.
Earlier that day, her mother, Cathee Wiseman, told The Courier that Chelesea Wiseman suffered severe injuries, including head trauma.
Robert Baigrie, 19, of Nassau Bay, was the driver of the Subaru that crashed into a Dodge Ram truck Sunday afternoon on Texas 105, killing two others, both Montgomery High graduates.
Baigrie told a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper he was “blacked out” when the crash occurred, the trooper said.
“The vehicle clearly went into the wrong lane,” Trooper Kevin Smith said. “Whether he blacked out or fell asleep is unknown but there is no sign of evasive action. No brakes were applied.”
The accident killed 19-year-olds Jeffrey Michael Inns and Kyle Drew Anderson, both 2007 Montgomery High School graduates, who were passengers in the Subaru.
A visitation for Inns will be 6-8 p.m. today at Metcalf Funeral Home, located at 1801 E. White Oak Terrace.
A memorial service for Anderson will be today at 10 a.m. at the Lone Star Cowboy Church, located at 1131 Eva St. in Montgomery.
Inns and Anderson were roommates at Texas Tech University and they had brought three college friends to their hometown for the weekend to experience the Renaissance Festival near Plantersville in Grimes County.
The accident happened about 1:10 p.m. on Texas 105 West, 2.7 miles east of Plantersville.
Baigrie suffered a non-life-threatening neck injury. Smith said had not spoken to Baigrie in detail because Baigrie obtained a lawyer and Smith needs to schedule a meeting with the attorney.
As required by law, a blood sample was taken from Baigrie to test for drugs and alcohol because he was the driver in an accident that caused at least one fatality, Smith said. The sample is still being analyzed.
Smith said he is not ruling out drugs and alcohol as a factor until he receives the test results. However, Cathee Wiseman said she’s heard from physicians that alcohol and drugs did not contribute to the accident.
Chelsea Wiseman’s college roommate Marissa Whiteworth, 18, of San Antonio, remained in critical condition Tuesday at the Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston.
The only other person injured in the accident was Garrison Kirsch, 5, of Montgomery, who was a passenger in the Dodge truck. He suffered non-life threatening bruises and abrasions, DPS reports show. Smith said Kirsch is doing well.
Funeral services for Jeffrey Michael Inns will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Fellowship of The Woodlands Church, located at One Fellowship Drive. Interment will follow in Forest Park-The Woodlands Cemetery, located at 18000 Interstate 45 South.
